Gittens will be in action in the 17 USA division with her team Houston Skyline The Woodlands 17 Royal. This is a new club in the region and the team is still finding its identity, but Gittens is hands down their most important player and that role has been doing well for her, who seems to be playing at her best this season. She has always been a very explosive and productive hitter at the net and that hasn’t changed, but now we know she’s ready to carry her team’s offense, hitting more balls every match and doing a good job of mixing things up at the net. Gittens has also been having a larger role in serve-receive and has been very solid with that too.

Gittens and her team The Woodlands Skyline 17 Royal experienced the growing pains of a recently-created program, winning two of their four matches at the Legends Classics #1  17s division, but had good things to show for. A long and explosive pin hitter, she showed she can lead the team’s offense into the season as she was their most used and most effective attacker at the net. Gittens used her power to score points on most occasions, but also displayed great intelligence and a strong shot selection to put the ball down in difficult situations. She also got the job done on the backcourt with her passing and served very aggressively.

Gittens was with us in our last showcase in December and it will be great to have her back. A very complete and well-rounded outside hitter, she continued to make great strides in the last club season with TAV Houston 16 Adidas. She’s extremely well-versed at the net, making a strong approach and making contact with the ball at a high point, but also has the resources to score in difficult situations with smart plays. Gittens is also a solid backcourt player, who’s been improving a lot with her passing and defense and who can also be a threat from the service line.

Although her TAV Houston 16 Adidas team that will compete in the 16 USA division has a strong group of pin hitters, it’s probably fair to say that Gittens is the most complete of them. She combines physical and technical skills very well and also has a high volleyball IQ, which makes of her a very productive player. Gittens is extremely resourceful at the net, always finding ways to score in difficult situations, and is getting better and better with her passing and defense. She’s also a very good server, who can make an impact from the service line.
