Bravender caught my attention when watching her as a sophomore for Waterloo West last year. She contributed 61 kills and 10.0 blocks for the Wahawks. I saw her again playing club ball at the Windy City Qualifier in April and at the LOVB Midwest Recruiting Showcase during June. Time and time again, Bravender delivered. She’s undersized in the front row, but makes up for lack of traditional hitter height by exploding off of the court and leaping into position to finish points. With good timing and technique, Bravender is effective with her block, altering a lot of shots she can’t reach.
