The Blue Demons lost a pretty good player who could both set and hit right side when Ela Shepherd graduated. They made the playoffs the last three years of her tenure. Blair now has taken on the setting responsibilities, running a 5/1. The team has not missed a beat.

What stands out despite her 5’8″ height is that Blair sits second on the team in blocks. Five of her 21 blocks have been solo blocks. The previous two years she did not show any blocks since she did not play front row.

This year Blair set the career assist record for the Blue Demons with 1809. By this time she probably has reached 2,000 assists (MaxPrep does not capture her frosh season statistics). Her favorite target this year appears to be sophomore outside Morgan Newhouse Morgan Newhouse 5'8" | OH Christiansburg | 2029 VA .

While Ela won player of the year last year in Class 3 Blair earned a spot on the first team.

Blair has been setting for Christiansburg since she was a frosh. She has always been overshadowed by setter/right side Ella Sheperd. Ella graduated last year which now leaves Blair in charge of running the team. She is quite capable reaching a career high of 506 assists last season. That put her over the 1,000 assists for her high school career.

She won first team All District as well as first team All State in Class 3. Blair does a good job of using all her offensive weapons, firing off a variety of jump sets, including hitting her middles with quick tempo sets. The offense is varied and quick. Last year they were undefeated going into the finals of the state championship before losing to Abingdon in four.

Blair still has Tatum Trotter Tatum Trotter 6'1" | MB/RS Christiansburg | 2028 State VA to set in the middle but the top three hitters on the team graduated as did setter/right side Ella Sheperd. It will be difficult to repeat their state finish from last season.

Blair debuts at number 172 in the rankings, moving up from the watch list.
