Was there ever any doubt about Ray’s greatness? She was already putting up some of the state’s most awe-inspiring attacking numbers, but the Oakland-Craig senior took it to another level in Thursday night’s win over No. 2 Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Ray piled up a whopping 39 kills and did it from anywhere: left side, right side, and in the middle-back area. She also churned out 17 digs and was a focal point of the passing rotation. Oakland-Craig’s tournament experience continues to pay dividends in the 2020s.

Oakland-Craig has been bringing “big gun” outside hitters to the tournament throughout the 2020s. Ray is this year’s go-to for O-C with a staggering 6.1 kills per set on a 0.241 clip. We’ve also seen this senior flourish in the back row with four digs per set in three consecutive seasons. The stat-stuffing campaign continues in Lincoln.

It was somehow possible for Ray to outpace her incredible 2023 numbers. The Oakland-Craig attacker has upped her kill-per-set average to 4.3 while adding a ton of other contributions in the back row. Her 3.9 digs per set are among the best totals for Nebraska 2026s–and that’s while Bray spends half her time along the net. The Knights have maintained their multi-year run of excellence and can lean on their do-everything junior en route to the state tournament.

We’ve hyped up Oakland-Craig’s senior class lately, but we can’t forget about the star attacker emerging from the Class of 2026. Ray earned some reps as a freshman but absolutely exploded in her second year with the Knights. She hammered down nearly 400 total kills as O-C extended its multi-year streak as a tournament participant. Ray and her orange-clad group of veterans will have no problems lighting up the scoreboard for another year.
