About Bronwyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay is pretty much all around style. I love to play defense aggressively but will also play as an OH when needed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My DNA consists of Samoan and Hawaiian warriors. Our ancestors were fierce, competitive and loyal people. We're taught to be strong and fierce, sometimes putting a strain on a young person. We just need to learn how to find a balance for our mental health. Balance is finding that you don't have to be perfect that it's okay to fail as long as you pick yourself back up.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Besides playing club volleyball, I belong to our Pacific Islanders Club and also attend church youth activities.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Meeting other youth whether at school, the club or church helps me to work with others. We need to interact with other people not only to better ourselves but the community as well. I've learned to be more patient and willing to open up to others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The past 2 years has been challenging for me. Freshman year, losing my oldest brother, my uncle and godmother within the same month impacted my studies and mental health. Through the help of my family, friends and peers, I'm finally getting back on track. Knowing that there are others out there willing to support me is a blessing.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking forward to attend a college that is family oriented, a well-rounded program that involves in Pacific Studies and Oceanography.
