About Brooklyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am high IQ setter that enjoys running a fast tempo offense. I am training to be more deceptive to create one on one opportunities for my hitters. I am pushing to increase my range in out of system balls but still keep tempo. I love defense and strive to be an outstanding defender as well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a fun personality off the court and get along well with everyone. On the court, I like to lead with a calm and positive presence but I am very competitive. My job as a setter is to make every pass look perfect and create opportunities for my hitters to execute. If you watch me play you will notice that I connect with my hitters and passers between every play. I love to celebrate my team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play for a college team with an awesome team culture. I love building relationships with my teammates and coaches. Volleyball is the ultimate team sport and that is why I love it, so my team is very important to me. I want a college team that loves to win, works hard and values team culture.

Pierce has refined her ability to manage the game through decision-making, consistently setting up hitters to succeed. Her court leadership is strengthened by years of shared experience with teammates who also played club together, giving their offense rhythm and cohesion. “I have worked to improve my decision making and putting my hitters in the best position to be able to score,” Pierce said. In the Division 1 Championship Bracket, she helped her team prove they could compete at the highest level before falling to Santa Margarita. Off the court, Pierce shows her playful side with a strong Happy Gilmore golf swing, a glimpse of the creativity she carries into her role as a setter. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
