Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay is high energy, competitive, and supportive of my team. I want to be my best but I want the same for my team. I love competing and I love pushing myself. Being the setter I take charge of the court but in a way that includes thinking of my entire team and the goals my coach has for the game. I enjoy the high pressure situations because it brings out the best in me!
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My personality is that I'm joyful, I take my work seriously, I work hard but I also want to find the right balance for myself and my team. I'm competitive but I know that being overly competitive especially within my team doesn't work. I am a leader and don't worry about peer pressure. I love my team and try to do what is right for ALL of us - that is how we win!
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yes, currently a freshmen so I am in NHS and DECA.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have been the captain of my JV team as an 8th grader which was challenging being the leader of people older than me. I received the leadership award this same year. I play Varsity Beach Volleyball as an 8th grader which I worried would be hard but I had great teammates and coaches.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just after my freshmen year of high school and just before my club season began. To say it is hard would be an understatement. The good part about it is that it has made me more driven to be a college athlete. I have to be much more strict on my diet, my workouts, my schedule. It's tough but it's made me tougher.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college in the Southeastern part of the US. The size of the university isn't necessarily important but being a part of a tight knit supportive team is important to me. My team is my family and I want to feel the same thing at the college I attend. I want to know that I am a part of great team and I want to share who I am with my college. I am ready to work!
