About Cassidy
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I bring an intense game when I am on the court. I push my teammates because I know when we collectively are in it to win it, we crush the competition. When I’m playing defense, I only focus on who I’m passing it to, and where I can place it to make my team shine.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a very encouraging and supportive personality. As for myself, I push myself through my mistakes and I tell myself “give me the ball again”. I do not give up on a game despite the scores, and I know that when I mess up, I can get the game right back into motion.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I have been involved in theater for 9 years. I am going into my third season of tennis and have been improving drastically. Despite not being involved in any organizations, this year I am planning on joining National Honors Society, Student Council, and Chick fil a Leadership to help my school and the students!
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have worked on mental stability throughout the years. When I first started volleyball, I would be upset with my teammates, coaches, and myself. I have learned that it doesn’t get anyone anywhere by getting sad, but I need to take it as motivation to play my best and to encourage others and be there for them when they need someone by simply reminding them to; take a breath, and slow down.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was twelve, my family went through a rough patch which affected my life. I removed myself from my friends for a while and I became distant, which affected not only my academics, but my strive. In the end, it changed me as a person and brought me, and my family, to a higher state. I believe God was putting his foot down on my family’s behaviors and changed us for the better.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that will help me to be recognized and hopefully push me to play beyond collegiate volleyball. A large sized college with a coach who is passionate for his team is something I want to be apart of in the near future.
