Catherine Martinez Catherine Martinez 5'3" | DS/L Manchester Valley | 2025 State VA was the lone class of 2025 player to attend the Prep Dig 250 Expo. She plays a solid back row. It is always tough for a libero to stand out. My first exposure to her occurred at the August showcase. She played well but since she will also be in Baltimore I’ll post more about her after that event.

She earned a spot on our class of 2025 rankings at 151 after the August Prep Dig showcase. As often happens with players who list Maryland as their state in their profile she dropped out of the rankings. That will have to be corrected.

Catherine will play for Limitless Volleyball Club this year.

She ranks at 151. One of the nice things about the showcases is it provides me an opportunity to see players I would not normally get a chance to see. Catherine impressed at the showcase. She started a little bit nervous but after taking some deep breaths showed she belonged in the back row. She moves her feet well and displays a good platform for passing. Based on her personality on the court she gives out the vibes of being a great team player.

She was a little nervous out there in the beginning. Her mom told her to just breath. She did and nailed the first serve she received, showing she belonged. The nerves disappeared. The liberos that most impress me are those with constant foot movement. A premier libero dances in the back row anticipating where that ball will be hit. Catherine shows good foot movement and plays the position well. An under the radar player that a smaller college should take a look at.
