Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as one of determination, hard work, and grit. I say grit because to me it means approaching every game, every point, with tenacity to get the job done, resilience to push through mistakes, and relentless physical effort. I always show up fully for my team, willing to put in the hard work and ready to push myself and my teammates to win and always be better.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I would describe myself as hard-working, always striving to do my very best. Mentally, I am always pushing myself and others. My friends would describe me as kind and thoughtful, someone they can trust to help lift them up and support them, and someone who loves to laugh.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Co-President Project Linus at my high school; non-profit that provides handmade blankets to seriously ill or traumatized children.
Key Club for three years which is a national student-led organization focused on leadership development, service, and personal growth.
National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation
District Math awards multiple years
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I developed leadership and teamwork skills through playing two Varsity sports through high school - Volleyball and Softball. As captain, I learned the importance of communication, working together, setting a positive example and supporting and motivating my team and younger players. From years on club and travel teams, I have learned how to overcome challenge and work with many different people.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
The most significant challenge I have faced was dealing with anxiety and feeling a need to be perfect. It would hinder my ability to focus and impact my confidence when playing sports. I have learned how to develop coping strategies and ways to ground myself when under pressure. I learned the importance of having a growth mindset and making mistakes is ok - that's how you learn.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking to attend a 4-year university preferably on the west coast that has a great reputation for high quality education and a medium-sized enrollment. I am undecided on my major but am interested in engineering or data science, business, or education. If I could combine those with something in a sports related industry would be ideal.
