About Charleston

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style is laser focused with a smile. I will go for every ball and I’m intent on a strong contribution to my team from the net, in the back row and behind the line. I’m proud to get the opportunity to play with the best and can’t wait for 16 Open National Qualifiers to see friends from camps & Prep Dig!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a natural leader that plays 6 rotations and has been set for each closing kill yielding 5 bids for three trips to GJNC in a row. My coach calls me “Sunshine” and I am working each day on applying the next point mindset to all in life.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have a perfect academic career, earned a spot on the very first IMG Academy open volleyball team and currently recognized as a AVCA Phenom, a Varsity Mid-Season Player of the Year, and player of the month locally for philanthropy. I was Fr. Of the Year in 2024 for my debut in Varsity Beach Volleyball on the #4 nationally ranked team. I am a 6R pin in Club and on pace to be a 5 year Varsity OH.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am always a captain, SAC representative or student advisor as seen in my transcripts. I most recently was awarded player of the month for my involvement in raising dollars for cancer research during my career through DigPink, The V Foundation and more. I also assist coach middle school volleyball in my community and volunteer at my club as an Ambassador for Women’s Sports.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’d say so! Please do read about my family in Dick Vitale’s most recent book. There is a chapter on my family as we advocate to raise dollars for the V Foundation. My brother has beaten brain cancer 5 times & our family has won the battle against cancer for a decade with Dick Vitale in Lakewood Ranch.

What type of college are you looking for?

High academic with big goals for their volleyball program is my dream! I hope for my teammates to be ready to fight for a championship while we earn the greatest degree we each can. I plan to compete at the highest level and apply to the schools that proudly take deep pride in both their athletes and academics on campus for life! 💙
