About Charli
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’d describe my gameplay style as focused and team-first. As a middle blocker, I rely on quick reflexes, smart decision-making, and staying light on my feet to read plays and react fast. I’m always looking for ways to support my teammates, make intelligent plays, and bring consistent energy and awareness to the court.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality on the court is serious, focused, and team-driven. I’m a very coachable athlete who listens, learns quickly, and is always looking to improve. I’m able to block out outside distractions and stay hyper focused in high-pressure moments. I thrive off the energy and interaction of my teammates, which pushes me to compete harder.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’m actively involved in several clubs and organizations at my high school that focus on leadership, mentorship, and community service. I participate in initiatives that support children with special needs and volunteer through programs connected to underrepresented families in Miami. I have not received any non-sport awards yet!
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through volleyball and my involvement in community organizations, I’ve developed strong leadership, communication, empathy and teamwork skills. Volleyball has taught me discipline, accountability, resilience, and how to stay composed under high pressured situations...especially learning the importance of trust, quick communication, and supporting my teammates in every moment.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
A significant challenge was playing up a year as the youngest on my team. While it showed my coach’s confidence in me, it pushed me out of my comfort zone. The faster pace, movement, and intensity required quick adaptation and mental toughness.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college that will empower me to dig deeper into my personal growth in the classroom and out. I want to play volleyball in college because I think I am the best version of myself when I am surrounded by a community of leaders who push themselves on a daily basis for better results.
