💡 Game You’re Proud Of
I’m really proud of my fast-growing skills in the back row. I know my defense is improving by the speed I’m reading balls and how I’ve managed to save points in key rallies. My extra reps have really been helping me make large improvements. I can see that my team trusts me to get the ball and I can see how it brings relief to the court. I’m also extremely proud of my serving abilities. I’ve always been a strong server, but in the past couple tournaments I’ve been really working on my placement of the ball and it can be reflected in the points that we gain from my aces. My coach, Matt Simmon, has always been confident in my serving and trusts me to help my team whenever we’re in a tough spot. I love it when he gives me places to serve and we get the point from placing it where he said. The moment it happens my team lights up and we do a silly celebration that brings a smile to all of our faces.📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured has been one of the greatest blessings I’ve received in my volleyball journey. I love this sport more than anything so getting to be featured on a main volleyball page that I’ve been watching since sixth grade was shocking. I felt beyond honored and still feel like I’ll wake up from this dream. As well as bringing me so much joy it also gave me lots of exposure. Since I’ve been covered I’ve had a lot more interest in me from coaches and teams. I also feel more respected by players who I adore. I’ve even made friends. Through the Prepdig SoCal Exposure Clinic I was able to meet new players from around California who I’ve become friends with and try to see at tournaments. Overall, the exposure I’ve received from Prepdig will help me in my journey to playing at the collegiate level and I couldn’t be more thankful for it.🧠 What Coaches Should Know
I would love coaches to know how much fun I like to have. Yes, when it’s a serious time in a game situation I know when to take things seriously but I’m also aware that volleyball is meant to be fun and you can’t perform at your highest if you are under consistent pressure and stress. I try to make every practice and game an environment that my teammates and I can learn and build together in a fun way. From the moment I step onto the court to the moment I go to bed I’m looking to make someone smile whether that’s through making a good play, doing a silly dance, or cracking a joke. I’m always ready to make the smart play and embarrass myself if it gets us the point and brings a smile to someone’s face. If you’d ask my teammates they would tell you that I’m a consistently lighthearted person and it’s helped our team face adversity later in tough games. I’d be more than blessed to bring that to the college environment as well as my hard work ethic.
