Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My job is to make my teammates successful. I do that literally (setting the player with the best chance for a kill) and by setting the tone for my teammates with attitude and effort. I read my team and my opponent to see who is locked in and plan my moves accordingly. Plus, I love to play scrappy - blocking, hitting, and diving to give my team the best chance to win.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am disciplined, both mentally and physically. Most days, I workout at the gym at 5am before school. I take time to prep healthy meals using whole foods, clean ingredients, and lots of protein. I protect my sleep so I can perform my best. But I also love a good dance break, goofing off with friends and teammates, and trying new things - especially great food!
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I'm part of a nationally-recognized, competitive acappella group called “Limited Edition.” My solo, "Still Rolling Stones," can be heard on Spotify (seen on Youtube). "LE" is both a curricular class and Varsity-level extracurricular commitment with performances, competitions, and travel. I'm also the Upper-Classman Liason to the Port Washington High School Student Council.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I've spent the last three years working on discipline and resilience. I’ve developed a love for strength & conditioning training, nutrition, and mental preparation. Advocating for myself and others has been good for my overall wellness. Not only have I improved my confidence, but also grown my leadership on and off the court.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
During the last two Varsity seasons, I sat the bench more than I played. That was hard to accept but it made me determined to prove my skill and work ethic. When I did become the starter, my stats quickly showed my contribution to the team. I also chose my club, Wisconsin Elite, to improve my performance and learn valuable lessons and discipline that I will use for the rest of my life.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm still considering all kinds of colleges in all locations. I'm a serious student and admire universities with support infrastructure for academic excellence, internships, and post-grad success.
