Barrera will be in action with SA Juniors 16 Adidas in the 16 Open division in Dallas. An extremely dynamic and explosive offensive player, she has always been a force at the net, but she has taken her game to the next level this season by playing on the left, the right and even the middle – and she can also score from the middle back position. Besides her firepower, Barrera also stands out for her ability to hit different shots and her intelligence to consistently pick the right option. The outside hitter has excellent technical skills too, and handles her passing and defensive duties very efficiently.

Corina is currently ranked as the 63^rd best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Sotomayor High School and plays club for the San Antonio Juniors volleyball program.  Miss Barrera has really been a solid contributor on the offensive side for her squad this season.  When I watched her team compete at this weekend’s tourney she really stood out for her shot making ability.  There were many times in the game that she did not hit the same shot twice in a row during rallies.  This is super important as an attacker because it keeps the defense constantly guessing on where and how she will deliver the ball.  By “being in her bag” so much while swinging on the left side, it keeps her scoring pretty efficient.  One attack that I loved was when she takes a big approach on the left, stays open to her setter while in the air, and hits across her body while the blockers are lined up for a cross-court shot. Every time she used this shot, it was able to score or get the opposing team out of system.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from us for her play during the tournament. 

Corina is currently ranked as the 63^rd best overall prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays at Sotomayor High School and also plays for the San Antonio Juniors volleyball club.  Miss Barrera has skyrocketed onto the big stage as of late and is crushing the ball to say the least.  Currently she has tallied 461 kills and that is good enough for third most amongst all sophomore attackers in this wonderful state.  From the moment she stepped on her campus, she has been a “go to” hitter and risen to the occasion.  She has already surpassed her kill total from last year in fewer sets played.  That alone should tell everyone in her path to watch out for her when she is in the lineup against them.  She is getting better and better each match, so every college coach in the country should take notice of this assassin.  The two sport stud also shines on the basketball court for Sotomayor and that tells me a lot about her athletic ability.  What I really love about her attacking is how she is always ready to swing on the ball.  It doesn’t matter if the team is in system or not, as there are many times where she pounces on overpass situations or is ready to stop her transition in order to adjust and attack quickly.  This is not an easy thing to do and it should speak volumes about her athleticism.
