About Dakota

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

TEAM: "Together Everyone Achieves More" Hi my name is Dakota Washington I would say my gameplay/style is controlled, scrappy, strategic, floor leader, energetic, and vocal. I feel like my gameplay/style is all of these because as a Libero, I encourage my teammates by being a floor leader, leading by example with my energetic personally but at the same time focusing on my fundamentals when playing.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my personality as social and lively but I also quiet and observant. When around my volleyball teammates i’m very extroverted but in school I am very introverted. I would describe my mentality as a focused leader and an extremely tough competitor. I hold myself to a high standard whereas I'm always working towards growth.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am currently in student council, yearbook club, and involved with my schools orchestra program. I have received Presidential Honor Roll, Duke Tip Academic Program, 3DE Program, and Solo and Ensemble Top Rank Solo (Superior/1st Place).

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, In volleyball & school. As a student athlete who participates in lots of extracurriculars such as clubs, orchestra, language classes, and lots of sports I have had to really discipline myself when it comes to staying on top of my school work while I perform to the best of my ability in my extracurriculars.
