About Danielle

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When I step onto the court I rely on two sayings, “Strive for greatness” and “If you don’t go, you won’t know”. The saying “Strive for greatness” helps me focus on the technical parts of the game like my passing, defense and other factors.“If you don’t go, you won’t know” means every ball is touchable.I will run to the other side of the gym, run into stands, chairs, or really anything.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very outgoing, funny, goofy personality with my teammates and friends. As far as my mentality goes I’d say I have “lock-in” type of mentality. Once I step on the court my main priority is helping myself and my teammates beat our opponent.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am apart of the National Junior Honor Society at school as well as the Pre-Med club. I’ve been on the A-B honor roll since 5th grade as well as been apart of Delta-Gems a sorority who does community service and other projects in the charlotte, north carolina area.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

When I first played volleyball I knew what position I wanted to be from the start. I wanted to be that starting libero in club,that starting libero in school, but I never understood the qualities you needed to be one besides talent. As I grew in the position I had to learn to command the back court as well as front and it helped develop leadership qualities in me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I first started playing volleyball I wanted to be perfect as in never making mistakes, always passing a 3 ball in serve receive, digging right on the net and when that didn’t happen I would get in my head. I would tell myself “Your not good enough”, “Your not going anywhere making mistakes”. As I got older I learned to not be so hard on myself and to learn from my mistakes.

What type of college are you looking for?

In a college i’m looking for a team with great chemistry on and off the court as well as the coaches. I need a coach thats going to push me to help me reach my full potential and will do whatever it takes, as well as my teammates. I like colleges that are located in a college town or city with many other activities.
