As they have some really good pin presence, the middle action they can produce helps balance the floor offensively as Martinez can be key to that effort. She moves well around her setter, tracking the ball coming off the passer to help her develop good timing and space. As she is not the biggest middle at 5’10, she can command attention in how well she makes herself available on one side while also putting up a respectable block for her team to play around defensively on the other side.

Martinez maximizes her physical tools well by working with intent when blocking and in her transition action to be an option for her setter. At 5’10, her ability to score is dependent on her spacing and timing that allows her to control her arm and swing aggressively through the space she finds at the net. Her ability to land and turn to find the ball helps her to make the right move in her footwork to be an option as much as possible as she can swing through a variety of attack points. Martinez is a cerebral middle in how she reads action well to check the pass and make adjustments around her setter with ability to make good plays even when timing isn’t perfect.

Martinez is an active and very engaged middle for her Elite VBTC team. Offensively, when she can create a big runway for her approach work, she tracks the ball well to give herself space and time to elevate and hit with good flow. Her range of offense includes a good relationship with her setter to maintain their timing while also improving what she can do behind the setter off of one foot.
