About Elianiz

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As an outside hitter, my gameplay style is aggressive, high-energy, and mostly smart. I thrive under pressure, taking big swings when it counts and work very hard to stay consistent in both front and back row. I bring strong communication and leadership to the court. Whether it’s cheering on for my team or bring energy inside the court. I stay locked in and fight for wins.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I can say I’m an outgoing, joyful person. I love to laugh and have fun. Inside the court I can say confidently that I am one of the most competitive players out there. I always want to give my best and push myself to improve. I try to be the player my team can count on at all times. One thing about me is that I will always put my heart out in the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play for OTVA and during 12u I received MVP award during Aau nationals.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I can say that going into volleyball I wasn’t the most serious player. But as I grew I began to develop the maturity that came with such an intense level of competition. I knew that in order to be successful you had to act like a high level athlete. I began to speak more in the court, doing what I can to communicate with my players.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I would say that my biggest challenge or opponent is myself. Dealing with the mental side at times when I begin to doubt myself or not have confidence.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can really grow as a player and a person. I want to be part of a competitive volleyball program with coaches and teammates who push each other to get better. At the same time, I want a school that has good academics and feels like a place I’d enjoy being at. A positive team environment and a good balance between sports and school are really important to me.
