About Elizabeth

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love a fast-paced game with solid defense. Scrappy, out-of-system balls are my favorite because it allows for me to play balls that I normally wouldn’t play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a goofy, kind, and focused athlete. When someone is down, I am telling them “it’s okay” and “there’s always another ball”. When theres a little mistake, the best thing to do is just focus on the next ball and forget about the last. Frustration does nobody any good.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Right now in the 2024-2025 school year I am involved in girls flag football which is considered a club at our school, but in the past I was involved in orchestra for 7 years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership, teamwork and a sense of community through volleyball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I got walking Phenumonia in early October 2024 as well as a double ear infection at the same time. I pushed myself and I only ended up missing one game and no practices despite ranking myself 1/5 on out chart if how we feel for several days. It’s funny because my coaches said they would of never noticed I was so sick.

What type of college are you looking for?

Competitive with a sense of community/family.

The Newport High School prospect has terrific size and strength at the middle position. 6’2″ with strong hands: Sugden is an impressive blocking force and showed off improved footwork and scoring ability during the club season. She was effective running quicks and in the seam, and will either hammer away or use her excellent vision and drop in a crafty tip to an empty part of the court. Sugden moves up to #69 overall in the rankings.
