About Ella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

High-IQ, explosive Libero with elite platform discipline. Recently recorded a 2.28 pass rating and 2.7 digs/set. Using a 25” vertical to maximize defensive range, I prioritize active anticipation to beat hitters to the spot. I’m a consistent, primary passer and a confident secondary setter in transition.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a 'never-drop' mentality and act as my team’s emotional anchor. As a Libero, my energy controls our defense, so I prioritize being a loud, consistent communicator. Whether up or down, I stay steady and thrive on the pressure of being the 'first contact.' I take pride in my grit, my 3.7 GPA, and my ability to lead and support my teammates through every rally.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have several semesters of high honor roll and honor roll. I'm committed to my future in Education, I serve as a coach and mentor for our school’s new 12U developmental club team. I love helping younger girls build a foundation for the sport while applying the leadership and communication skills I use as a Libero.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through athletics and volunteering, I’ve mastered the art of adaptability. Leading team drills taught me that leadership isn't about giving orders—it’s about elevating others' performance, while raising my own bar. My coaching and mentoring helped refine my communication and figure out how to bridge gaps between individuals, not divide them. I approach challenges with a focus on long-term impact.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I began volleyball the summer before freshman year, barely making the team that year. To catch up, I dropped other lifelong sports to focus entirely on growth. I rose from a JV backup to a Varsity letter by sophomore year. Now a libero for Empowered VBA, my late start became a working strength—proving I can outwork others to compete at an elite level.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a program that combines a top-tier Education major with a great volleyball culture that's focused on improving their back row defense. I want to join a team where my grit and work ethic can help build a winning legacy. I’m seeking a coaching staff that values high-IQ players and an environment where I can excel as a future educator while competing at the highest possible level.
