About Ella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I think my setting style is fast, smart, and adaptable. I like running tempo and reversing the flow to keep the blockers guessing. I read the defense constantly and adjust in real-time if something isn't working. I also take pride in my defensive abilities to keep plays alive.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a setter, I have a strategic and selfless mindset. I am always reading the game, anticipating the opponent's moves, and setting up my teammates for success. I am able to stay focused in chaotic moments. Communication and leadership are key—I constantly talk to my team, direct the flow of play, and build trust through consistency. My goal is to make my hitters look good.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Not at this time

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a setter, I’ve learned to direct teammates, keep energy high, and make split‑second decisions that set the tone for the whole team. Bouncing back after errors whether it's my own or by teammates. Giving encouragement to my hitters whether it's a bad set or a bad hit. I let them know to keep swinging.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my 14's season, I lost my setter position because I wasn't playing up to my ability. Instead of getting my down, I decided to take lessons and work more on my game outside of practice. I was able to get to spot back and ran a 5-1 for the rest of the season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a competitive volleyball program with a supportive, team-oriented culture and a coaching staff that values development, leadership, and character just as much as performance. I want a college that feels like a second home—where I can push myself, contribute, and continue growing on and off the court.
