From a family of volleyballers, it seems like Ella’s been around forever on the Indiana volleyball scene. Playing with a maturity that belies her extensive skill set, her court vision is second to none, and regularly takes advantage of what defenses give her. She’s a six-rotation outside for life, and plays with a freedom that’s not seen often from Power Four outsides, let alone a small-school outside committed to Morehead State. This kid is awesome—-and is proof that constant, consistent hard work in the gym pays off.

Looking lithe yet anything but, Ella is part of a long line of Warricks that are seemingly born to play volleyball. This Morehead State recruit has been around Linton-Stockton for what feels like 6 years, and her mature play and constant motor while playing set her apart from most everyone. On the season, she’s already tallied 350 kills, and the offensive load she’s required to shoulder for her squad is unmatched.

Ella is a player who I first saw play when she was in middle school, and I knew she was going to be incredible. She is the full package of big jumper, intense competitor, hard swinger and hustle defender that any coach would dream of having on their team. Plus, her deep jump float has no spin and drops out of nowhere. And like Van Der Aa she is clearly committed to exceling on the court – driving 1.5 hours to play for Circle City’s 1s team. What I loved most about watching Ella at this stage is her leadership. When she is on the court in high school matches, she is easily the most gifted volleyball player there, but she never acts like it. She is an incredible encourager of her teammates when she plays and is the heartbeat of her Linton-Stockton team. Warrick is absolutely the full package.

Ella brings such a balance of energy and consistency to the court. She is very powerful and uses every inch of her vertical to elevate over opposing blocks. Ella impressed me with her court awareness and shot selection. She always had something different in her pocket which helped her earn points efficiently.

Warrick is a high flyer on the outside. She approaches with speed and has such a violent arm swing where she is not afraid to be aggressive. Her skill set allows her to be an all around player for Circle City 16 Purple. This team has a bid to Vegas in the 16 National Division which the Gauntlet will be a great warm up for many of these teams who could see ach other in Milwaukee and at nationals.
