About Emaline

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very competitive and look to play at the highest level possible while also having fun and getting to meet and play with new people. I love the IQ part of the game and always love making scrappy plays and it turning out our way.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am all about a short memory and moving on to the next play everytime that whistle blows no matter how the play before it ended. I am very very competitive and always want to win or lose with a hard fought battle where I know I played to the best of my abilities.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in speech club and have recently joined the LOVB athlete council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been a captain the past two years for my school team and have gotten so much leadership from that as well as from the nature of playing setter on the court. Every year I volunteer with my school at feed my starving children and this past year I have been coaching a 12u team where I have learned more leadership and patience.

What type of college are you looking for?

I love the saying I once heard where it dates that you should pick the school that you would want to be at if you broke your leg and couldn’t play so that’s what I see myself picking my school. I want to be in a tight knot community that feels like a second family. A place where I can be myself and grow my game but also my life skills while lifting others to do the same.

Roberts is a high energy setter who does an excellent job tracking down balls all over the court and turning difficult plays into scoring opportunities. Even in transition, she can find her middles and keeps them involved in the offense, which puts pressure on the opposing team’s blockers. Roberts also does a great job pushing the ball out to the pin, delivering hittable sets that allow her attackers to stay aggressive and keep the offense flowing.
