About Emersyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love this game. I play with heart and hustle, and love pushing myself to new levels. My length helps me to be aggressive in my play style.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I've worked hard on my mental game. I love winning and work hard to stay focused on being the best player and teammate I can be. My goal is to make everyone on my side of the net the best they can be. As for my personality, I love to have fun and laugh.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a dual sport athlete. I play Varsity basketball as well, but my first love is volleyball. I am very involved in my church. I serve every weekend on the hospitality team, and I am on the leadership team for our youth group. My faith means everything to me.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I love to be a champion of others. Whether it's celebrating an accomplishment they've achieved, or being a friend to someone who needs one, I love people and want to be an encourager to everyone I am around. I was cheer captain for 2 years before I let go of cheer to focus more on volleyball and basketball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I work through two challenges. I am homeschooled, and wouldn't change it, but it can be a challenge for me because people often underestimate homeschool athletics. I'm thankful that the state of KS allows homeschool teams to compete against public schools, which increases the competition I see. Also, playing basketball is a challenge bc it can interfere with Club Volleyball, but I make it work.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to play for a college that will push me to be my best, allow me to grow in my abilities, and to make an impact on the team.

I am not sure I will get to see the KS Networks 16-2 squad play in the event, but they will be a team worth checking out. Ripley is a prospect I have scouted at college elite camps and a club practice, but I have never seen her play with her prep or club team. I may have to look for a date later in the season to scout one of her matches. She has recorded back-to-back seasons with 300-plus kills for her Wichita-based homeschool squad. Ripley is ranked No. 14 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. KS Networks 16-2 will play in Pool E and open up against 417 Juniors 16-1 at 8:50 a.m.

Ripley has recorded back-to-back seasons with 90-plus kills for the Warriors. She has also registered 300-plus kills during her last two prep seasons. She remains what I consider an under-the-radar prospect despite being ranked No. 10 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She has participated in Elite Camps for Division II schools. She would be an awesome steal for a JUCO program, and then could move on to a DI program from there.

She is an athlete I look forward to seeing compete in person, as I have only seen her game film and closely tracked her statistics. Last season, she finished with 379 kills and 99 blocks for the Wichita Warriors, a homeschool program. The Elite Camp will be a big test for her to see who she competes with some of the best in the state.
