Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I believe my gameplay style is a healthy and fierce balance of quick plays, smart decisions, and court awareness driven by positive energy.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My coaches over time have shared with me that they observe a strong leadership mentality on and off the court, which builds their confidence in designating me as team captain year after year. I love and respect my teammates and I do my best to bring positivity and motivation while pushing ourselves to perform our very best with and for each other.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
In addition to several volleyball affiliations, I am part of my High School Leadership committee, the Christian Club, and involved in several local volunteer non-profits. I was the student body President for my Sophomore year, and will be the only incoming Junior who will be an ASB officer. I was awarded 'Freshman of the Year' for my contributions to the Leadership committee in my High School.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I feel that I am constantly learning and developing. I definitely feel that I have grown my understanding on what differentiates good from great leaders in the different environments I am in (sports, school, home, church). Playing competitive volleyball year-round and building along with maintaining strong teamwork and collaborative skills is something I feel has been a part of daily function.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Specific to Volleyball, my team has faced a key player getting injured 1-2 weeks before GJNC for the last two Nationals we have qualified for. Each instance was extremely challenging and disheartening with our team needing to pivot quickly in order to stay competitive, and for I to maintain composure and confidence as team captain. I was able to lead my team in refocusing on what we can control.
What type of college are you looking for?
Medium-sized college with a strong culture that encourages a healthy balance of academic and personal growth, along with a competitive college-level sports volleyball program.
