Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a setter it's important to be a team player. By being able to facilitate on offense and create points when the hitters can't. Defense is a stronger side of my game. I'm able to read the hitters arm and communicate with my teammates. As well as creating opportunities for out of system plays. Volleyball is a game of mistakes which is why serving is the most important of the game.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Sports have taught me so much from just a young age. As a player every time you step onto the court you have to give every ounce of effort you have, not just for you but for the team. That with hard work allows me to excel in the sport of volleyball. I love being on the court with my best friends, having fun and doing what I love brings me the most joy.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Sports have taught me the importance of time management and what perseverance does for a person. Leadership is a quality I value about myself. I believe that being a leader involves showing up for your team when they need you the most, cheering them up after a bad play, and help the team stay hyped throughout the game. In my free time I also help coach the youth players in my community.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
A challenge I face is playing multiple sports and having your schedule overlap. It's difficult when your coaches say they support you in playing multiple sports but become angry when you have to make choices. I believe that by playing multiple sports it makes you a more well rounded athlete and even can help you in life.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a college that values effort, hard work, and determination. A program that comes to battle and doesn't go down without a fight. A team where everyone is each other's biggest cheerleaders.
