About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as aggressive and ready to win at all times. While I am a competitor at heart, I value the relationship between me and my teammates because that matters just as much as skill during a game. I command the backcourt with confidence, energy, and positivity to help bring my team successes.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality on and off the court is very similar. I love making people laugh, and I surround myself with energetic and positive minded people. I play hard, lead with a smile, and always bring a high level of energy to every rep. My energy is contagious, and my leadership on the court is authentic. If I can lift someone up with a compliment, I use that as my fuel on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been involved in ASB for the last 4 years (7th-10th). In 9th gr. I was elected as the Freshman class Rally Commissioner at Liberty HS. During 10th grade, I served as a Sophomore class Honor Rep, and will serve as an 11th grade Honor Rep and Link Crew Leader for the upcoming school year. I was selected to represent LHS at the HOBY Leadership Program, which I attended June 19-22, 2025.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been fortunate to Captain two teams that I have played for. The best lesson I learned was that I had to develop the trust of my teammates. Before I was appointed Captain, I never realized how quickly my self doubt after a bad play could spread like cancer through the whole team. I knew my team would never be able to trust me if I didn't learn how to forgive and forget.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The loss of my dad has significantly impacted my life. My dad was an incredible athlete, and I am so thankful that I was blessed with his athletic abilities. After his death, I dove head first into sports and found volleyball. Since then, playing at the next level has been my goal. I'm following in my dad's footsteps, but I'm also creating my own for my future kids to follow.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can grow my volleyball career and meets my academic goals. I am looking for a college that is close to a city with lots of activities to do outside of the college campus. For volleyball, , I am looking for a school where I can work to become a starter on a team that competes at a high level.
