Emma brings an aggressive approach to the setter position, particularly from the service line. She has recorded more than 100 aces this season while approaching 1,000 assists, giving Columbus a setter who can influence a match before the opposing offense even begins its transition. Her serve creates opportunities to disrupt the opponent’s first contact and force the offense into less comfortable options.

The next part of her evaluation is how she manages the game after those points. Columbus needed to respond to momentum swings against North Hall, and Emma’s responsibility was to keep the offense from becoming predictable or rushed. She has the ability to control tempo while remaining an offensive threat from the service line. Continued development in disguising her intentions and varying distribution will make her increasingly difficult for opposing blockers to read. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
