About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is strategic and team focused. I love running quick plays or even faking a swing to draw the blockers away. Whenever we run a quick play and score it feels amazing because the team executed it well. I also like adapting to a back row set or a bad pass. You have to be ready for anything nothing is set in stone.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very positive when I am on and off the court. The game is not over until the ref blows the final whistle and you shake hands with the other team. So no matter what the score is you should never give up. I try to be aware of the score but not focused on it. No matter what the score is I will always push myself and play my best and not hold back. I also play with kindness and respect.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in BETA club, National Honor Society, and Hacking club. My Hacking team qualified for this years Hackathon in April. Some non-sport awards I have received are Honor Roll, Superintendents List, and Principals List.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer at Brooksville Elementary School and I have lots of leadership opportunities. There are times where the teacher is busy so you have to step in and get to work. I also volunteer and help coach with the Hernando Elite Beach Volleyball program. I get to watch the young players develop into great players and watch them grow their love for the sport.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, in the past I was pushed over and that made me very quiet and shy. I started sticking up for myself and have become more outgoing and have gained more confidence and leadership. Now I am excited to share my ideas with my team and make sure everyone feels included.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is team-oriented. I would love to be on a team that is encouraging and everyone loves what they are doing. I also want a school that focuses a lot on academics.
