About Emmalyn

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of United States Hunter/Jumper Association, Georgia Hunter/Jumper Association and United States Equestrian Foundation. I have ridden for George Walton Academy’s Interscholastic Equestrian Association team for the last two years. I have received 2 awards for having a positive attitude and exemplary work ethic. I have served as class president and had the role of Captain on my team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have seen first hand how important teamwork is for a winning season. I have a positive, uplifting spirit and love to cheer for my teammates. I lead small groups at church camp and serve my community through Lydia’s Place, volleyball camps and church. I have learned to overcome adversity and work hard everyday.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 6th grade and had to overcome obstacles that kept me from being my best self. I have since put habits in place to help me succeed.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that allows me to play volleyball and has a great community that feels more like family. I am open to colleges at different levels that help me meet my goal of being a veterinarian.
