About Erin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

While I love learning from other teammates and enjoy being a part of the team, I have been told that I have powerful serves and a high jump. My focus is on where that ball will be when it is hit towards me and where those other team players won't be when I hit it to them. I am so thrilled when I see my own teammates pull off an impossible dig or spike knowing I had some part in it as well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel like I am very stable and have the willingness to learn from everyone around me. I am constantly trying to make myself better. I laugh a lot and quick to make friends. I don't like drama and try to stay away from it. I also understand that sometimes it's not always going to be awesome. But those moments are learning opportunities and it's just comes with life.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have played with Eclipse VB club in 2023 (my 10th grade year) and I am on Kids America for 2024. I have attended multiple VB camps including those in Ohio State University. Playing for my High School (Danville) has been a huge asset to my growth as my coaches are very good. Awards - Player of the game (Knox HS Vs. Danville Hs) Top 3 or 1 on my team every year in HS for stats. GPA 4.0

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My career is towards Nursing or furthing my college degree in the medical field. My leadership has been with my own HS team for Danville and learning from the coach and my family about what a leadership quality is required. I have learned that a group of people make the difference and it's rarely about just 1 person. I think my determination to be the best I can be adds to the team muscle.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In 2023 my VB team in HS started loosing. I tried my best but felt like my teammates were not into it and felt like my coach that year, didn't care about us. I found out that if I step up and encourage the team, they followed my excitement. We started winning when our team spirit improved. Knowing positive reinforcement can have a huge impact in the face of defeat.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that understands I can be a valuable asset and to learn from those ahead of me. I am never going to be perfect, but I can strive to be with the others around me. I want that college that also gives me the ability to further my nursing career.
