About Eva

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel I am a calm and calculated player who loves to block aggressively at the net, I love being set and given the chance to score points for my team. Middle Blocker is my fulltime position but always like getting to play other rolls as well. I am willing to do whatever is needed to help my team grow and win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is a THIS BALL approach, meaning that the last play/ball is over and it's time to concentrate on the next play/ ball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I belong to Fellowship of Christian Athletes and spend most Sunday mornings in church. I also belonged to Sources of Strength at my old school. We helped with special events at school and also helped new students learn about the school to help them feel more comfortable in their new surroundings.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a young student and player, I am always searching out ways to be a leader not only on the court but in the classroom as well. I feel the more I can learn from other people the stronger I will be.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Not so far but I understand as I mature there will be life challenges I will face. Thats why Volleyball is so important for me because it will help me prepare for the challenges to come.

What type of college are you looking for?

Right now I'm at the beginning of this adventure and will hopefully start looking in that direction as I progress through school and develop the direction my future will go.

Howard has turned into a solid hitter for the 15-1 squad. Howard pounds ones to different parts of the court and does a great job cutting balls to the sides of blockers. She is also effective running slides and other plays. Coaches say it is a hard balance for hitters when it comes to power and placement. However, Howard manages to put down a lot of balls. Howard said it depends on the set as to whether she focuses more on placement as opposed to smoking balls. Howard said if the set is near the net she can focus more on placement but has to focus more on power to get balls in the court if not.
