About Faye

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very open to anything while playing. Within this past year I have played every position on the court. This shows that I am a well-trained all around player and I am willing to do anything to help my team when we need it most. I love playing scrappy but in an organized way. Where it looks like to other teams that we have no idea what we are doing but as a team we know what we are doing.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to be the loudest and most positive player on the court. I always am there for my teammates and make sure to cheer them on and off the court. I always make sure to be happy and up beat so help everyone around me and put smiles on their faces. Even when I am going through hard times I always make sure to put myself first but I am very considerate of others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently also in varsity softball at my school. It has help me grown as a team player and to get along with everyone. I have been able to hold an above 3.0 all year and been able to stay in honor roll as well.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In the past year, I have been able to develop a lot of personal growth on and off the court. In past years I have been very hard on myself while playing. Recently I have found that being very positive on the court makes everything fun and helps everyone around you. Having a upbeat, positive attitude on the court also improves how everyone plays. I am always there for my teammates no matter what.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A few years back, I had to skip a year of volleyball due to many reasons. The volleyball program at the school I was attending didn't have the best coaches or players with a good mentality. I played for them for a year and realized the program wasn't for me. I took a break year from volleyball which also meant that I was a year behind with coaching when I came back, was committed to get caught up.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am currently looking for a college with a strong early education and volleyball program. The division of the school doesn't matter to me, I just want to be able to extend my volleyball career as I get older. I would like to go to an in state school, but my eyes are open to anywhere. I would also prefer a school with on-campus housing.
