About Finley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a six-rotation outside hitter who plays with consistency, energy, and court awareness. I’m strong in serve receive and defense, and I’m known for being smart at the net, placing the ball where it’s hardest to defend rather than always swinging for power. I try to be a dependable all-around player who stays calm and competitive in high-pressure moments.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, coachable, and always looking to improve. I stay positive under pressure, work hard, and bring energy to my team. I take feedback seriously and see challenges as opportunities to grow.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of school and volleyball, I work at The Farm League coaching youth volleyball and also give private lessons to younger players who are just starting out. I really enjoy helping them build confidence and learn the game. I also like spending time with friends and going to church. Both are a big part of keeping me grounded and balanced.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, I’ve developed strong teamwork and leadership skills. I’ve learned how to communicate under pressure, support my teammates, and lead by example. These experiences have made me more confident, disciplined, and coachable, on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I didn’t begin playing volleyball until 8th grade and had no experience before that. At first, it was intimidating to catch up to players who had been playing for years, but I committed to learning, training hard, and improving quickly. That experience taught me how to stay focused, work through self-doubt, and believe in my ability to grow with effort and persistence.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with strong academics where I can also play competitive volleyball. I want to be part of a positive, uplifting team environment with coaches who care about developing the whole person, not just the athlete. I’m open to schools in different parts of the country because I’m adventurous and excited to find the right fit for both my education and volleyball journey.

Albiston was very strong at the net and displayed interesting offensive qualities that made of her one of the best in the position. She had good variation with her swings and was excellent at assessing the situation and making the right choice every time she went up to swing. Albiston displayed solid firepower to put the ball down, but much of her high efficiency came from her ability to read blockers and hit around them. She played some middle too and did well, getting to contribute on both sides of the ball. The outside hitter also passed well and did a good job of communicating with her teammates.
