Finnley Davis was a fantastic addition to our Freshman Showcase and brought so many of the qualities you want to see from a young setter. She was a consistent communicator throughout the day, played with all-out hustle, and brought a steady presence to the court regardless of what was happening around her. Her ability to remain composed when rallies became chaotic was one of the biggest things that stood out to us.

Finnley is also a defense-first setter, which added another layer to her impact. She worked hard to keep balls off the floor and consistently gave her libero and teammates quality out-of-system balls when she was forced to take first contact. Rather than simply keeping those plays alive, she showed the control to put her team in a position to still generate offense. That type of awareness and willingness to do the less glamorous work is incredibly valuable from the setter position.

Between her communication, defensive mentality, hustle, and composure, Finnley has a strong foundation to continue building upon as she enters the high school game. She showed many of the intangible qualities that are difficult to teach, and we’re excited to continue following her development as she takes this next step in her volleyball career.
