About Gabby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a consistent hitter, and I like to switch up my techniques and shots rather than just swinging away at every ball. I can hit from the Outside, Middle, or Right Side, and in my past few seasons of both school and club I have switched in between all three hitting positions to meet the needs of my team. I also have a lot of experience in the back row and I am not afraid to hustle after any ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very positive mindset when it comes to gameplay and my teammates. I quickly learn and move on from mistakes, I do not let negative attitudes affect me, and I have a strong focus on my game. I communicate well with coaches and teammates to build strong relationships. Both my school and club coaches comment on how much they appreciate my loudness and enthusiasm on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At school, the clubs I participate in is DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), Medical Club, and Culinary Club. As a Freshman, I volunteered at Center For Success in Pontiac- a literary center for under privileged kids. I also work part-time as an assistant swim instructor at a local high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned that volleyball is all about what is best for the team. I am a multi-sport athlete; I ran Varsity Track in the Spring along with Club Volleyball as a freshman. I ran Varsity Cross Country in the Fall during school volleyball as a sophomore. Because of this, I have mastered time-management and organization, but most importantly leading by example.
