About Gabriela

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a setter and opposite hitter I'm always focused in the game, I'm very agile and fast and I have a really good reaction time. I know how to position the ball at the court for plays and I would say I know how to read players and plays pretty well. I'm also a very intense player, I cheer extra loud for my team, I'm really vocal so I always call hitters, sims, balls, plays, etc.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm always trying to be as positive as possible with my teamates, always trying to keep our energy high before, during and after the game, I'm very competitive and always want to win, I'm a leader in and out of the court, I'm very talkative, energetic and intense person.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

No I'm not involved in anything yet

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I'm developing my leadership, I was captain for my high school and club team, I always try to help, motivate and guide my friends and team. With community service I learned on how to listen to people and work with people that I don't know and still get things done.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes I have, I moved from Brazil to the US when I was 13 years old, in middle of 8th grade, changing culture, language, country, the way sports were played and other things. It was really hard in the beggining but I learned how to adapt to different environments, that I can do difficult things and accomplish everything that I want to if I work hard for it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for D1 colleges, that have a strong volleyball team that can help me improve and develop in the sport, also looking for a college that can help me with a professional carrer for my future and that will also help me to improve academically.
