About Gideon

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strengths as a player are reading hitters, communicating, and digging hard-driven balls. I take pride in being coachable, hardworking, and a strong teammate who brings energy and encouragement to the court. Whether we’re up by 20 or down by 20, I strive to stay composed, communicate consistently, and keep my teammates motivated.

What are you working to improve right now?

I’m working on building my confidence and becoming a more consistent player. While serve receive is one of my strengths, I know there is always room to improve. I’m focused on refining my technique, trusting my abilities, and consistently delivering quality passes under pressure. My goal is to become more confident, and be the most reliable libero on any court.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I’m looking for a hardworking, competitive program with strong team chemistry and a close-knit, family-like environment. I want a coach who will challenge me to improve and help me grow as a libero, teammate, and person. My faith is important to me, and I hope to find a program that balances volleyball, academics, and personal growth.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Outside of volleyball, my faith, academics, and relationships are important to me. I strive to be hardworking, encouraging, and coachable in everything I do, and I try to lead by example while continuing to grow as a person. I started volleyball in eighth grade and since then have felt a fiery passion for the beautiful sport.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I would like to study psychology and anything that can lead to my fallback job, therapy. But I would work my heart out to become a professional volleyball player.
