About Grace

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I believe I play calm and collected, which helps my team stay calm during stressful games. I like to read my hitters to see how they’re feeling and set them accordingly.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel that I work hard to stay mentally tough and not let small errors or mistakes. Get the best of me. I focus on staying calm and collected during each set and not let my emotions overtake my ability to make good decisions and create opportunities for my hitters to be successful.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I enjoy helping teach Crossfit for kids as this was a program that helped me to be successful in volleyball. It helps each child individually find confidence in their own strengths and work on their weaknesses in a non-competitive athletic environment so there is not a lot of outside pressure from parents, etc. to be successful.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a strong sense of confidence in my strength and ability to be successful. When I was younger, I was made fun of for being the muscular girl, but I have grown to love my strength and have helped other girls find beauty and strength as well.I have found that leading by example and supporting my teammates when they are struggling, has been the best component of my sports career.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Challenges I have faced physically have been being made of fun of for being the muscular girl. I have learned to love being strong and the confidence and gives me to be successful, I also love to help others find that same confidence in their strength.
