About Gracie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I try my hardest to talk and communicate on the court. That can be calling out where my opponents set is going, telling my hitters what is open, and talking out seams on serve receive. I always try and stay positive even when we are down by a few points by encouraging my teammates instead of letting them get down as well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say I have a strong mentality when playing volleyball. If I make a mistake, I try my best to let it go because I know that everyone makes mistakes. I don't carry that mistake with me, but think about what I can do to prevent that mistake from happening again.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I help to coach for Wisconsin Club, which is a program the Midwest Penguins Volleyball Club runs. It is a program to teach the game of volleyball to kids in 5th-8th grade, who want to play the sport, but cannot commit to playing club. I was named Student of the Month at Waukesha West High School in April 2024 I'm in a club called FeMade at school, which is a female engineering program

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been invited to the Leadership Conference at my high school for both my freshman and sophomore year, where I learned about the importance of teamwork and what it takes to go from good to great.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I got a concussion last May, which took me out of volleyball for about 2 months. I had to miss two club tournaments which was really hard for me to not be able to play with my team. I went to physical therapy to try and get back as soon as possible and have made a complete recovery.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with a strong volleyball program with a great coaching staff and teammates. I'm looking for a school that is somewhat near my home because being near my family is very important to me.
