About Graycen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Graycen is a 2028 setter in Georgia. She's a 2x state champion and an AAU National Champion. She’s earned 1st Team All-Region honors and a spot on the 2025 AVCA Phenom Watchlist. A consistent Dean’s List student, she also runs a small business through her school and aspires to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a people person who loves life, music, and making others laugh. I maintain a 3.6 GPA and am exploring careers in business, education, or healthcare. The moment I touched a volleyball it became my main sport and I continue to discover something new about the game every time I play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I attend a Morgan County College and Career Academy and am enrolled in the Entrepreneurship pathway. I own a mobile spray tanning business and enjoy learning about the business world. I’m also a Healthcare pathway student, a HOSA member, and I volunteer with my school’s Special Olympics program. I have been named the Team Spirit Captain two years in a row, which means a lot to me.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has helped me become a better leader, communicator, and teammate by learning how to build trust and guide my team on the court. Owning my own business has taught me responsibility and different problem-solving skills and volunteering with HOSA and Special Olympics has helped me learn the importance of giving back.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Never give up: In 7th grade I was told I would never be a setter by my small rural club. I asked my parents for a second opinion, so we drove two hours to Atlanta where I was placed on a top team. That season I became a National Champion Setter and played with some of the most talented players. I'm now a 2x time state champion Setter and we still drive to Atlanta three times a week for practice.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I feel supported, challenged, and part of a close-knit community on and off the court.
