About Hailey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I believe that as a setter, I set my team up for an effective and fast offense. I use my volleyball IQ to place a set exactly where we need to score. I know my hitters well, and adjust my sets strictly based off who the set is for. When I am in the game, offense is fast and strong. I also bring points to the scoreboard, as I am a very consistent server. I also do my part effectively on defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is every single point matters. However, if the last one was bad, don’t pout about it, fix it. Make up for every point you lose, and celebrate every point you game. I am very energetic and uplifting. I get extremely excited for my teammates accomplishments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in NHS at Leslie County High-school. I have also been part of many academic teams and leaderships teams and programs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

When it comes to leadership, I am always willing to step in and make sure everyone has a good mindset and understanding of what to do and how to do it. I encourage and uplift others in everything I do. When it comes to teamwork, I believe the strongest quality is trust. I have served 400+ hours helping in my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have. When I was in 5th grade, my dad suffered 2 massive strokes. He was in UK Hospital for almost 3 weeks. During that time, my mom stayed with him while I helped her with my younger brother. I got him dressed and ready for school, made sure he was bathed and fed, and keeping his grades up. I done all of this all while taking care of myself, and playing volleyball and being a vital role.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am highly looking into MoreHead State University, where I plan to receive an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Science and Diagnostic Medical Sonography (OB/GYN).

She has good range allowing her to close seams quickly and keep plays alive. Napier reacts quickly on defense, making the routine passes. Improved ball control is a good next step for Napier.
