How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I feel that I go for every ball during defense, and I’m a very controlling player when it comes to serve receive.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a very bubbly personality with lots of energy. I have developed my mentality when playing the sport. I used to be really upset when I would lose; I would cry, but now I can say I am I good sport.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am in JROTC and DECA. I have received awards for enthusiasm and dedication.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
JROTC helped me a lot with leadership and teamwork skills. I had to work with a group to march on a football field, had to take charge when someone wouldn’t show up, or when no one else would volunteer. I have also done 20 hours of community service this past school year.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
The most significant challenge I have faced is trying to understand my Tia. She is 86 years old and can’t hear or speak. She never learned sign language; she kinda made up her own. It’s taken me years to understand what she’s been trying to tell me, I understand a little more now. I have lived with her my entire life and helped her in every aspect. I help her take showers and get around anywhere.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that can push me to where I can get to job I want, or to just succeed in life. My mother came from a very poor family and she built herself up with nobody’s help, and I wish to do the same.
