About Halima

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is focused on consistency and maintaining high energy throughout the match. I always try to keep the team's energy up by encouraging everyone and trying to stay positive, no matter the situation. I aim to contribute reliably and keep the team motivated to push through tough moments.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel like I have a positive and determined mentality, always focusing on growth and learning from every experience. I try to stay calm under pressure, and keep a balanced mindset while motivating my teammates to stay focused and energized. My approach is all about persistence, teamwork, and maintaining a strong sense of optimism.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of volleyball, I’m actively involved in Jack and Jill of America - Brooklyn Chapter, where I participate in various community service events, always looking for opportunities to give back. I’m also passionate about art and take part in art electives both in and outside of school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Since I began playing volleyball, I’ve gradually stepped out of my comfort zone. I’m naturally a bit shy, so joining new teams can be intimidating, especially when meeting new people. However, through the sport, I’ve developed a strong sense of teamwork and actively seek opportunities to connect with my teammates, building both relationships and trust along the way.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with a strong sports program, and I'm particularly interested in studying sports management. I also value a team that will challenge me to reach my full potential and expects a lot from me, as I’m eager to compete at a high level.
