About Hayden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to be crafty with my setting. Spread the ball around when I can, feed the hot hand, set the ball to players in one-on-one blocking situations and dump when the other team is on their heels. Although I love running the offense, I especially love playing defense. There's no greater feeling than a stuff block or a pancake.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I maintain a positive attitude on the court - even when it's tough. I am my team's biggest hype man when I'm on the bench. I get more excited for my teammates big plays than I do for my own. Volleyball has thrown a lot of adversity at me, but there's still nothing I would rather do than play this sport.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've been sidelined due to injury. I have played through the pain (with the approval of the doctors) because I would rather be on the court. After surgery, it was difficult to have to sit out but I still showed up for every practice (1.5 hour drive each way), every tournament and was still the loudest cheerleader for my team.
