About Hazel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style tends to be fast, energetic, and team-oriented. I play with high intensity and focus on being quick defensively while bringing positive energy to the court. I take pride in keeping my teammates’ morale high and being a consistent, reliable presence in the back row.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have an upbeat personality, but a relentless competitive mindset. I take pride in competing hard in every situation and bringing energy, confidence, and consistency to my team, especially in high-pressure moments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in FFA and 4-H. I do many competitions and have made it to the state finals for FFA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership, teamwork, and accountability through volleyball and student leadership organizations. As a team captain during my second 14s club season and an FFA officer in middle school and my freshman year I learned how to lead with communication and positivity. During my freshman season I would play with JV & Varsity and this completely shifted my teamwork abilities for the best!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. During my first year on 14's club season, I faced a challenging mental stretch, but I adjusted quickly by refocusing on my mindset and goals. The experience helped me grow mentally stronger and more resilient as a competitor.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to join a competitive program with coaches who support both physical and mental growth. I value a positive team culture and want to contribute as a defensive specialist and hopefully up to a libero, while developing my leadership and resilience.
