About Holli

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Focused and ready. I like to play as a MB/OH, but I also love playing back row and serving. I want to continue to grow and learn. I want to be able to do it all and be the best I can be!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to play with a good mindset, & smile on my face. I want to lift my team up & bring out the best in those around me. In my opinion when a mistake is made & one player on the team gets frustrated or mad at their teammates it doesn't help or make anything better. So I try my best to keep a smile on the court & on the sidelines. I believe we can do (& recover) from anything if we work together.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

When I’m not playing, I enjoy school & challenging myself academically. I’ve scored higher than 77% of 6th grade students nationally for reading & Language Arts. I scored in the top 20% of 5th graders on my state test & I’m in accelerated math this year. I love learning in every way possible & can’t wait for college!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

This coming season my team & I plan on helping our community by volunteering at our local animal shelters, senior living homes & plan to organize a summer beach clean up. I love making a difference & working together with my peers to help make our community a better place for all.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced challenges physically & mentally. One thing I have learned recently is perseverance and how important it is to not let other people’s words or doubt get to me. Instead of getting discouraged, I push even harder to prove them wrong because I know I can do anything I put my mind to.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to attend a D1 University in California, Hawaii or Florida. I hope to find a team and coach that will help, believe and push me to be my best. My goal is to be in a pro league, and one day in the Olympics to represent team USA.
