About Ireland

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Team Player with a laser beam focus on the court. Interested in improving and winning every day. Absolutely love the game and have a very high volleyball IQ.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A few coaches call me "steady" and I associate that trait with my skills, I am steady in the face of adversity and challenge and also with my skills. It is hard to rattle me on the court. I can really stay even keel and it helps the team!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am earning my private pilot license while in high school and I volunteer with church and other community organizations. It helps me to stay grateful for all that I have.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership is a definite since I am confident and brave. I participated in speech and debate and it helped me to overcome the fear of public speaking. Our family has volunteered for safe families Milwaukee and I have seen many difficult family situations and I have mentored many of the young kids we hosted in our home.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I overcame 2 injuries back to back (Mar 2023, Jan 2024) and had to press through some challenging recovery to get back stronger than before. I am healthy and grateful for the group of people who encouraged me. I am far more confident than I was before. I also failed a college CLEP test once and it was an excellent learning opportunity to evaluate my weaknesses and become stronger.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love a college where I enjoy the classes and the professor knows who I am and the volleyball team is like a 2nd family.

Her ability to manufacture points using both power and finesse really sets her apart. She is smart and savvy on the pin and a huge energizer for her team. Ireland brings an outstanding balance of talent and intangibles that make her a very well-rounded athlete who consistently delivers.
