The Rogers senior has played in the middle at times during her high school and club years; her ability to rise up and send down terminal swings shines brightest when she is on the pin. Terry can make adjustments on challenging sets, keeping the pressure on the defense with smart attacks, and swallows tight sets and jousts as a blocker. She will stay in state and play her college ball at Western Washington.

The junior has been a starter since day one of her high school career and will be on the pin for Rogers this season. Terry is a major part of everything Rogers does on the court, playing tough defense, attacking out of the pipe, and delivering big blocks and rockets when she is playing on the net.

Terry ran the middle for SVA during club but may be moved along the front line for Rogers this fall. SVA pushed a near-zero tempo for the middles, and when Terry was able to connect with her setters it was electric. She continues to be a terrific athlete and has improved her passing and eye work when identifying the opposing attackers to set up her block.

SVA has Terry soaring out of the middle, and it’s not unusual for the super bouncy attacker to crush a ball at the 10-foot line to start a match. She will set the tone early, establishing the middle as a must-defend position. Setter Maya Quitiquit makes it a priority to get Terry attempts, opening up the rest of the offense for SVA. Her quickness and vertical set her apart along the front line, Terry is up and blocking easily on time against opponents running the middle.

Terry had one of the better freshman debuts in the state this season, playing as an outside hitter at the 4A level for Rogers (Puyallup). She faced great competition all season long and grew into her role as a six-rotation player. That is a difficult task coming in as a ninth grader, Terry handled the pressure well. She will give SVA a springy attacker at the pin but is also extremely effective in the middle where blockers are not ready for her explosiveness.
